PICAYUNE — “The Lord is good and His mercy endures forever” Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the 8th Street Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Home. Sis. Annie Mae, 92, departed this earthly life on Friday, May 28, 2010 in Warmsprings, Ga.

She was born on November 24, 1917 to the late Amos and Melissa (Cook) Robinson in Brookhaven, Miss. She was a longtime resident of Picayune. She later married the late Clifton “Snake” Abram, to this union one daughter. She later in life remarried to Prentiss James until he preceded her in death. She owned and operated Annie’s Beauty Salon for almost 30 years and her and her late husband Clifton were the owners of Abram’s Grocery.

Annie Mae was a very dedicated member of St. James A.M.E. Church where she was the organist and the director of the music department, a member and president of “The Elite Club” (a social organization of black female business owners).

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Melissa and Amos Robinson; sister, R.E. Roberston-Lewis; and brother, Amos “Rob” Robinson, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Tamara Abram of Columbus, Ga.; two granddaughters, Lashunette Marie Means of Jessup, Ga., and Takara Lakayla Abrams of Picayune; one grandson, Kayle Jerrod Abram of Columbus; four great-grandsons, Tristian, Trenton, Treymon, and Mar’kayle; a niece, Andrea Robinson; two nephews, Sylvester Robertson and Adrian Robinson; and one godson, Rodney Brown of Oakland, Calif.

Brown Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
