Pat loved to drive his tractor, fish, hunt, and observe nature. He entertained crowds with fireworks displays throughout Summit County for many years. He had a vast knowledge of aviation and military history. He served the Lord and community in many capacities. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and affectionately nicknamed them all. He had an original sense of humor and contagious laugh. His tall tales are legendary among his family members and earned him the title of “The Fibbing Grandpa.”
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, Elaine Ovard, brother, Paul J. Ovard, and grandson, Seth Mondragon. Pat is survived by his wife Bonnie, sister Judy (Bob) Roath, brothers Harold (Delores) Ovard, and Dode (Karen) Ovard. He is also survived by seven children, Phil (Marjorie) Ovard, Susie (Arvin) Bond, Orlene (Snook) Snyder, Errik (Nancy) Ovard, Dane (Hydee) Ovard, Angie (Alan) Ramage, and Sandi (John) Kunkel, 16 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in the Henefer LDS Church. Friends may call Wednesday, July 20, 2016 from 5:30-7:30 P.M. and preceding the funeral from 9:30-10:45 A.M.
