Hattiesburg

A. G. Powe, Jr., 89, of Hattiesburg, died July 17, 2016, at the MS State Veteran's Home in Collins. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg from 10 a.m. until the services at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Mr. Powe was a member and deacon at Temple Baptist Church. He worked in the oil industry for 20 years before opening Powe's Union 76, which he owned for 20 years. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Powe is survived by his wife, Gloria Hensarling Powe of Hattiesburg; one daughter, Donna Powe Green (Wayne) of Hattiesburg; one son, Scott Powe (Debbie) of Pass Christian; one sister, Doris Powe Millican (David) of McComb; and four grandchildren, David Scott Powe of Pass Christian, Matthew Powe of McDonough, GA, Sydney Green of Oxford and Sinclaire Green of Hattiesburg.
