A death notice on page 10 of the Tuesday, February 4, 1919 edition of the Atlanta Journal reads "Mrs. M.M. Akins, 64 years old, died Monday afternoon at the home, 45 Eugenia Street. She is survived by her husband... four daughters...three sons."
A funeral notice the following day reads "Mrs. M. M. Akins is to be buried at Dunwoody." Her husband, Milton M. Akins, is also buried here.
