Maxine was known as a savvy business woman who loved sports and car racing, and an active Republican supporter on the state and national level. She was first employed at Uniroyal Tire Company in Indianapolis and then went on to Precision Rings as Chief Accountant and Controller until her retirement in the 1980s. She was a member of the Eastern Star 131, Brownsburg.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Ed Burns, her niece, Hazel Heriter, and the love of her life, Charles H. Pierson, her second husband.
She is survived by her stepson, Charles W. Pierson of Indiana, her niece, Phyllis Adair, of Florida, numerous grand nieces and nephews, her god daughter Elizabeth Casady of Michigan, and her loving neighbors, Tammy and John Wamsley, who cared for her until her final days.
Family and friends may gather from 12-1 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2016 with Rev. Karen L. King officiating Maxine's celebration of life service at 1 p.m. in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Maxine will be laid to rest in West Newton Cemetery, Indianapolis.
