Their goal was to save some of Jefferson County's precious land for our future children to explore and enjoy. The bridge was also very special to Arlene and the community of people she loved. Arlene was called on to research and help with saving the Victoria Glade from development, working with The Nature Conservancy of Missouri and Dorothy Heinze.
Arlene retired in January 2001 as a realtor with Gundaker Realtors in Hillsboro. In the year before she retired, she was named "2000 Realtor of the Year" for Jefferson County.
