ESSEX JUNCTION - Gilbert "Jack" Albert Bessette Jr., 75, passed away on Tuesday, July 12th 2016, at Starr Farm Nursing Center in Burlington.

He was born in Washington, DC on October 4th 1940, the son of Albert G. and Violet M. (Payne) Bessette.

After marriage, he moved with his family to Burlington in 1968.

He married Mary Anne Safford on December 30th 1984 in Burlington, Vermont.

He was active with the Burlington Police Dept. and Fire Dept. auxiliaries for many years.

He was employed as a painter with Dave Oliver for over 20 years.

In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting with his cousins.

He leaves his wife, the mother of his children, three daughters, two sons, three sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, many grand and great grandchildren, five step sons, three step daughters, many step grand and great grandchildren, one brother, two sisters and their husbands, several nieces, nephews and cousins, especially his two special cousins.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by 1 brother, 3 sisters, 1 granddaughter and 1 step grandson.
