BENDEN – Barry D., 67, Portage, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Maple Winds Care Center, Portage. Born August 18, 1948 in Portage, the son of Peter Odenthal andMargaret Benden. Deceased family members include his parents; fiancee, Sharon Baith; Brothers, Joseph Francis Benden, Joseph R. Benden, William Benden. Sisters, Mary Ellen Mitchell and Emily Benden. Uncles, William, Cloyd, James, Albert, and Martin Odenthal. Aunts, Ida Pauley, Mary Hess, Catherine McGinn, and Martha Gallaher. Survived by daughter, Brittany Benden and fiancee Kevin; grandchildren, Kiarra, Kaden, Kenzie, and Keagan; step children, Carly Costo and Sam Costo, and step grandchild, Adara. Brother, of Donald (Tom) Odenthal, Portage. Nieces, Emily Trueman, Deborah Cyran, JoLee Benden, and Lorriane Boreman; Nephew, Robert Odenthal. Also survived by other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Retired from Medical Credit services, Fairfax, VA, as the director of operations. He was an avid Bob Seger fan and enjoyed fishing and his dog, Sugar. Graveside services will be held at 11AM, Saturday at Prospect Cemetery, Portage. The Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage is serving the Benden family.
