She was the daughter of Andrew and Susan (Shaw) Smalley.
A licensed practical nurse, she worked at VIP Manor in Wood River and Alton Mental Health and Rehabilitation Center before retiring.
Surviving are three sons, Gary Acker of Virginia, Billy (Kelli) Acker of Kansas, Edward "E.J." (Kim) Acker of Rosewood Heights; two daughters, Shirlene (Doug) Arnold of Brighton, Cindy (Mack) McClure of Arkansas; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Vietnam veteran John Acker, Fire Capt. Thomas Acker; a daughter, Sharon Drury; a brother, Donald Smalley; and two sisters, Mary Poole and Lois Pearson.
Visitation will be from 3 until 4 p.m. memorial service Wednesday, Feb. 1, at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
Private disposition will follow at a later date.
