HERBSTER — Angelo D. Nicoletti, 84, of Herbster, passed away Friday, April 2, 2004, at Memorial Medical Center, in Ashland. He was born January 20, 1920, in Herbster, the son of Peter and Mary (Menneguzzo) Nicoletti.

He graduated from South Shore High School in I 938 and later served in the U.S. Army. On May 31, 1967, he married Ruth Mikolajczak in Hammond, Tenn. For many years, Angelo worked for United States Steel, in Chicago, prior to his retirement m 1976. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, in Iron River. Angelo enjoyed gardening, farming, woodworking, and he also loved spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived by five sisters, Clara (Ron) Martens, Herbster, Elizabeth Pearson, Cloverland, Bernadine Treviranus, Poplar, Louise (Dwight) Johnson, Port Wing, Delores (Richard) Schnepp, Port Wing; two step-daughters, Ruth Ann (Richard) Ladewig, Lowell, Ind. and Mary Kenda, Port Wing; step-son, George (Carol) Gawrys, Clark Summit, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth on Aug. 4, 1998; three brothers, Tony, Dominic, and John Nicoletti; two sisters, Katherine Larson and Mary Rasimaki.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, in Iron River, with Father Michael Crisp officiating.

Interment will take place 2:15 p.m., on Monday, in the Herbster Community Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, on Sunday at St Michael's Catholic Church, in Iron River.

Arrangements are by the Bratley Funeral Home, in Washburn.
