Moses Thompson, son of Alexander Thompson, of Newton Township, farmed in Garden Plain township. He was born in 1822 in Pennsylvania and came to Whiteside County with his parents in 1839. He and his wife, Isabella, born 1831 in Ohio, were the parents of Alex, Susanna, Samuel, Ezekiel and John. Moses Thompson died in 1862.
