Raymond L. Waples, 77, 414 N. 3rd St., a resident of Marshalltown since 1925, died Thursday night at Mercy Hospital after a short illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Pursel-Davis Memorial Chapel and burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

MR. WAPLES was born April 3, 1882, in Lafayette, Ind., son of Isaac and Sarah Waples, and later moved to Racine and Milwaukee, Wis., before coming to Marshalltown where he was employed at the Brintnall store.

He was married Sept. 1., 1910 to Agnes Van Sickle in Kokomo, Ind.

SURVIVING WITH the vindow are three children Sarah and James Francis of Marshalltown and Mrs. A. E. Lindly of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and one brother, Asa M. of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters.

Mr. Waples was a member of Central Christian. Church, Marshall Lodge No. 108, AF &AM; Central Chapter No. 67, OES, and also the Knights of Pythias at Lafayette.
