Walter A. Crossley of 12 Broome Street, Port Jervis,NY, died at 7 pm on Thursday, June 1, 1922, at the Deer park Sanitarium after a short illness.

Deceased was born in New York City on October 30, 1861, and was the son of Mr. & Mrs. Elijah Crossley. For a number of year with his father and brothers, he was engaged in the manufacture of lumber and wood chemicals in the eastern Pennsylvania. 1918, he came to Port Jervis where he purchased the E. P. Farnum residence at 12 Broome Street where he has made his home. He was a member of the Derw M.E. Church, of Port Jervis, and was Past Commander of St Andrews Commandery, Knights Templar, of Susquehanna. He was also a member of the Mecca Temple of Shriners in Wilkesbarre.

During his residence in Port Jervis, Mr. Crossley has made many warm friends. He was interested in those things that promote a better civic life, he was present at many social occasions in Port Jervis, and his associates always found him a delightful companion. He was alys courteous and obliging.

The surviving relatives are his wife, formerly Miss Florence Gilchrist of Lake Como, PA, Two daughters, Miss Mabel G. Crossley of Wallinford, Conn, and Mrs A. H. Naylor of Port Jervis; One sister, Mrs. George Stage, of Port Jervis; One Brother, Albert C. Crossley, of Binghamton, NY and several nephews and nieces.

The funeral was held at his home, where the service was conducted. Then his body was taken on the Erie's Jamestown Express to Starrucca, PA, where he will be laid to rest in Starrucca Cemetery.
