West Gardiner – Grace V Marston 1925-2016
Grace was an inspiration to all who knew her. Family was most important to her. To her family included her many nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends alike. She was truly selfless and gladly gave without a second thought to anyone she felt was in need.

Grace married George Hartwell Marston in 1947. They enjoyed 48 years of marriage until his death in 1995. They raised two children, James and Alona. They made many memories together. Some of Grace's favorite memories were the trips they took "out West" to visit friends they met while Hartwell was in the Air Force.

Grace had a zest for life and continued to make wonderful memories with family and friends. She enjoyed going to camp with her dear friend Lynda and shopping with Margaret. She enjoyed spending time with her neighbor, Anita, getting ice cream and lobster rolls. She loved getting together with her nieces and nephews. She was very proud and loved seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren perform in plays, concerts and sports events.

Grace and her great grandson, Jonathan had a tradition of flipping her age on her birthday to make her younger. This year she was looking forward to turning 19.

Grace was predeceased by her husband Hartwell, daughter Alona, five of her brothers, Gerald, Clyde, Kenneth, Earl and Clifton and her sister Frances. As well as two infant grandsons, George and Harold. She is survived and deeply missed by her son, James Marston and wife Ellen, brother, Donald and wife Loralie, grandchildren, Lynn Young and husband Douglas, Brian Perkins and wife Amanda, Adam Marston, Kevin Marston and wife Deanna, great grandchildren, Jonathan, Allison, Amanda, Molly, Kaylee, Desiree, and Alyssa as well as several nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by three little ones who were dear to her, Kyla and Noah and her little neighbor, Quincy.

A graveside service for family and friends will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Gardiner.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donation can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Muscular Dystrophy Association. (Staples Funeral Home and Bangor Daily News 7/18/2016)
