Mary H. Posten, 96, of Flagstaff, AZ, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011. Mary Posten was born October 6, 1914, in St. Paul, Minnesota, and was raised in Santa Monica, California. She moved to Douglas in 1937 when she married Robert S. Posten. They raised four children in Douglas. Mary was an Executive Secretary for Phelps Dodge Corporation until she retired in 1979. Mary's husband, Bob Posten, died in 1977. Mary met and married F. H. (Bob) Noble in 1983. They moved to Sun City, Phoenix, in the late 80's. After Mr. Noble passed away in 1990, Mary moved to Flagstaff to be near her family. She is survived by her children, Robert Posten (Linda) of San Marcos, CA; Pamela Meyer (Woody) of Citrus Heights, CA; Melissa Edel (Dan) of Flagstaff; Barbara Weland of Prescott; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her son-in-law, Thomas Weland and her grandchildren, Chad England and Christopher Posten, also preceded her in death. She lived at the Peaks Senior Living Center for several years before her death. Her family wishes to express their thanks for the loving care and attention given to Mary by the caregivers at the Peaks and the nurses and caregivers from Hospice Compassus. A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 3, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at Norvel Owens Mortuary, Flagstaff, AZ. Mary will be interned at the Calvary Cemetery in Douglas on March 4, 2011.
