Robert (Bob) Abernathy (75) of Murfreesboro, Tn, passed away on February 13, 1983 at Murfreesboro Health Care Center, Tn.

Survivors incude; Wife, Mrs. Jim Hendrixson Abernathy of Murfreesboro; one son, Dr. J. Paul Abernathy; daughter, Jamie Campbell; seven grandchildren, Randy, Mike, Scott and Allen Abernathy, Rich and Chris Campbell and Dana Daffer, all of Murfreesboro.

He was a professor of English and Director of University Relations M.T.S.U. from 1947 until he retired June 30, 1972.


Remains are at the Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home. Services were held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 15, 19983 with Dr. George DeHoff and Harold Baker officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and the Bob Abernathy Scholarship Fund at MTSU.
Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery
