Sylvia Alice Orndoff was born to Algernon (Allen Jernon Sidney) Orndoff Jr. and Minnie Myrtle (Seay) Orndoff June 11, 1934 in Omak, Washington. Sylvia was born in her grandmother "Unie" Farner Orndoff-Mills house who lived across the street. Sylvia had one sibling, Algernon ('Sidney') III. Later, her mother Minnie started using the spelling of their last name as 'Orndorff'.
CHILDREN:
Sylvia had one natural child, Priscilla. Six children were born from the marital union of Dennis and his first marriage to Barbara Basham: LaDebra, Cindy, Sherry, Jerry, twins Shane and Shannon. Barbara passed away three weeks after giving birth to the twins due to complications. Sylvia was a good friend of Barbara. Dennis' mother Margaret and Sylvia took care of the six small children.
A year and half later, Dennis and Sylvia married. Dennis raised Sylvia's biological daughter Priscilla. Sylvia adopted Dennis & Barbara's six children. When Priscilla was an adult, Dennis chose to legally adopt Priscilla as his own child.
Later, Sylvia was a foster parent to numerous (21) teens. A very special foster child was Kathy Lynn Miracle who lived with Sylvia as part of her family growing up and was the daughter of 'Pat' Ervin Conn, a very close friend of Sylvia's since age 15 until Pat's death New Years Eve in 1991.

Bus Driver for Kennewick School District, Kennewick, Washington, 1968-2003. Sylvia loved her job and her 'children'.
Sylvia had strong influences in her life as a child. Her mother, Minnie, taught a strong faith in the Lord, as well as the importance of family relationships. Sylvia's father, Allen, taught her to respect people. Sylvia's grandparents, Unie and Frank Corbin taught her to love the history and stories of her relatives with their humor in story-telling. She was raised in a close-knit family with the Orndoffs and Mills.
Sylvia was always very active in the Assembly of God Church in Wenatchee and Kennewick.
