Lucille Chugg Nebeker

August 21, 1924 ~ July 10, 2016

Lucille was 91 years of age at the time of her death. She was born to Raymond Royal and Esther Taylor Chugg in their Harrisville, Utah home where she spent all her growing years. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ross, and of all of her siblings; Myrtle Hunter, Flora Edwards, Raymond Chugg and Lou Jean Purcell. Her sister Flora passed on when her nephew Lynn Edwards was an infant, so he and his brother Ralph were brought into their home, and raised as her brothers.

She was married to her eternal companion, Ezra Ross Nebeker, after being engaged to him for three years while he served in the Air Force in WWII. They were married on April 23, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She is survived by her children, Joan Nebeker (Miky), Neil Nebeker (Leslie), Lori Case (Carl), and Carol Smith (Stuart). She is "Aunt Lucy" to many. She is also the proud Grandma to 15 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren, who all call her “Grandma Great”, and “Great” she was!

She was employed with the school lunch program, Utah Tayloring Mills and DDO. She has traveled many places around the world and loved to collect knickknacks where ever she went.

One of her favorite pastimes was crocheting. She lovingly created hundreds of afghans one stitch at a time, to give to friends and loved ones. If you come to her funeral, bring your afghan. Let’s see how many we can get all in one place. She also crocheted many toys, dolls, pillows, clothes, and baby blessing dresses.

Since high school, Lucille has belonged to a group of “Club Ladies” they have met together every other Thursday for 70 years, and still meet rain or shine!

She would give or do anything for anyone. “Don’t go away hungry”, she would often say. She even used to give some of Ross's things away, much to his surprise.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Aultorest Memorial Park.
