Barbara Ann Daringer, 77, of Waterloo, died Monday, July 11, at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, after a brief illness.
She was born Oct. 14, 1938, in Ontario, Canada, daughter of Otto and Margaret Evans Bahr. She married James D. Johnson, and they later divorced. She then married Robert Norman Daringer. She was a homemaker.
Barb was an avid reader, enjoyed spending time at the casino, and loved singing karaoke. She will be dearly missed by her family and many others whose lives she touched.
Survived by five sons, Michael (Laura) Johnson of Kentucky, Billy (Donna) Daringer of Waterloo, Scott (Dawn) Daringer of Aplington, Robert Daringer Jr. and David Daringer; four daughters, Jodi (Cory) Bradley of Waterloo, Melissa (Tony) Clark of Elk Run Heights, Toni Jo (Dennis) Daringer-Smith and Dawn Laurie; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Bob Pratto of San Francisco; a daughter-in-law, Bea Miller of Waterloo; and a sister-in-law, Ruby Bahr of California.
Preceded in death by two sons, James Randall “Randy” Johnson, and Christopher Johnson, in infancy; a daughter, Charlotte Johnson, in infancy; an infant, Baby J; two grandsons, Trent Allen Clark and Anthony Marvin Clark Jr., both in infancy; two great-grandsons, Taylor James Tovar and Cory Michael Tovar; a brother, William “Bill’ Bahr; and two best friends, Linda Nobis and Rosemary Ridgeway.
