William Braas Sr., 58, Armstrong retiree
William Henry Braas, Sr., 58, of Raymond Drive, passed away Tuesday evening at St. Joseph Hospital following a brief illness.
Braas was a laborer for Armstrong World Industries, Inc. for 35 years. Following retirement in 1999, he worked for Starks Fire Protection Co.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He enjoyed model railroading with Lionel trains and was an avid NASCAR racing fan.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Myrtle Gantz Braas of Georgetown and the late William Lewis.
He was married to Erlene A. Reidenbach Ziegler Brass for 12 years on April 4.
Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are a stepdaughter, Sandra L. (Richard A. Brill) of Elizabethtown; five step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Gloria Jean (Elmer Phillips) of Georgetown, and Judith Ann (Bud McClune) of Las Vegas.
