Rebecca Wilkinson was born September 10 1795 in Samson County (established in 1784 from Duplin County) North Carolina.

Luke was a Methodist preacher; Mary and Rebecca WILKINSON Conerly were sisters. Rebecca and he had no children They raised her sister's two sons Patrick and Mark. the sons of Catherine Wilkinson and the late Dr McAlpin. Catherine then married Calvin Magee, a Baptist minister.

Priceless Conerly Bible Record Found: The following Bible Record, of inestimable importance to the numerous descendants of Cullen Conerly, recently came to light when a neighbor of Mrs. W. K. Conerly of Leesville found it among a batch of miscellaneous papers which had belonged to an aunt of hers and turned it over to Mrs. Conerly. As will appear, included

in the record left by Rev. Luke Conerly is information copied by Luke from the Bible of

his parents Cullen and Lettitia Conerly of Duplin Co. NC, which was thought to have disappeared without a trace many years ago.

The Conerly family was the subject of a

splendid book compiled by Wm. A. & Irma Lampton, published a year ago after ten years

of intensive research.

Luke Conerly, son of Cullen Conerly, was born in the state of NC, county of Duplin, on

the 9th of Dec. A.D. 1792.

Rebecca Wilkinson, daughter of Wm. Wilkinson, was born in the state of NC, county of

Sampson, on the 10th of Sept. A.D. 1795.

Luke and Rebecca were joined in wedlock on the 14th of Oct. 1813-and lived in NC after marriage seven years, five months and 17 days. Thence started on our journey to Baton Rouge on April 1st 1821 and reached Baton Rouge June 12th, same year. Luke Conerly.
