Pneumonia Caused Death
After Seven Weeks' Illness
at St. Mary's Hospital.
Fred Bastean of 128 Maine street died this morning at 7 o'clock at St. Mary's hospital. He had been sick for seven weeks and death resulted from pneumonia. He was born in St. Charles county, Mo., September 27, 1862, and was 53 years old when he died. He had been a resident of this city for a year.
Besides his wife, Myrtle, he leaves five brothers: William of Lincoln county Mo.; Joseph of St. Louis county Mo.; Henry and Charles of St. Charles county, Mo.; and Stephen, of Quincy, Illinois. Also one sister, Mrs. Henry Rottger, of St. Charles county, Mo.

Fred Bastean Buried
Today in Calvary
The funeral of the late Fred Bastean was held from the residence of his brother, Stephen Bastean, 1617 North Sixth street, this morning at 8:30 o'clock, and at 9 o'clock from St. Rose of Lima church.
The pall bearers were George Kathe, Conrad Ernst, Billy Owens, William Rust, Oliver Medaris, and Ben Knuf.
Burial was at Calvary cemetery.
