William Meissen died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Bange, of North Twenty-fourth street, Riverside, at 8:20 o'clock yesterday morning, from a complication of diseases, from which he had suffered for several years.

Mr. Meissen was born in Westphalen Germany January 7 1839, the son of Theodore and Catherine (Schmitz) Meissen. At the age of 20 years, he came to Adams county, and had engaged in farming until five years ago, when he retired.

He was married to Miss Elizabeth Fork in St. Boniface church 48 years ago. His wife died last April, and since, he had been failing rapidly. For the past five weeks, he had made his home with the daughter, at whose residence he died.

The decedent was a member of St. Francis church, and had always been faithful to his religion. He was also a member of the St. Aloysius Orphan Society, and the St. Francis Men's Society.

The following relatives survive, besides a number of friends:

Four sons: John of Wien Missouri; Ben of Moosejaw Canada; Joe of St. Marys Kansas; and Louis at home. Eight daughters: Mrs. B. A. Meinert, Trowsdale Oklahoma; Mrs. Ike Kangeiser, Leslie Missouri; Mrs. Ed Kangeiser, New Haven Missouri; Sister Eugenie, Lafayette Indiana; Sister Emma, Lindsey Nebraska; Mrs. Henry Strigle, Salisbury Missouri; Mrs. John Bange and Mrs. Louis Freese, Quincy; [also] six brothers and six sisters.

The funeral will be held from his home, 1837 Elm, Thursday morning at 8:30, and at 9 o'clock from St. Francis church. Interment at Calvary cemetery. Friends invited. Omit flowers.

The funeral of the late William Meissen was held Thursday morning at 8:30 o'clock from the residence at 1837 Elm street, and at 9 o'clock from St. Francis Catholic church, at Seventeenth and Vine streets. The interment was at Calvary cemetery. Reverend Father Didacus was in charge of the services at the church and grave.

A large number of relatives and friends were present to pay a last tribute to the memory of the dead. The relatives from out of town were: a son of the deceased, John Meissen and family of Wien Missouri; a daughter Mrs. Isaac Kanngieser of Leslie Missouri; son in law Bernard Meinert of Trousdale Oklahoma; another son in law Henry Strigle of Salisbury Missouri. Also, Bernard and Elizabeth Schmidkamp of Burlington Wisconsin.

The pall bearers were: James Reagan, John Geers, John Smith, Louis Freese, Henry Duesterhaus and Henry Holtschlag.
