Waneta R. Bechter, 85, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2009. Born February 28, 1924 in Cambridge, Ohio. She had lived in Akron for most of her life. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Throughout her life she has had various jobs, but her favorite by far was being a wonderful mom and grandma. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Bechter; and sisters, Dorothy and Hazel. She is survived by daughter, Georgette (Greg) Bond; sons, Robert (Linda) Allen and Ray Allen, all of Akron; stepchildren, Chuck (Betty) Bechter, of New Bremen, Ohio, John Bechter, of Wooster, Hazel (Louis) Kroah, of Uniontown, and Ruth Sisson, of Akron; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
"Grams" will be sadly missed by her granddaughters, Alicia and Ashley, whom she has lived with over the past 7 years, but their many memories will always bring smiles to their faces.
Calling hours will be Thursday, 5 to 9 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where a funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
