Edward “Babe” Bakhaus died Monday May 23, 2016 at Beecher Manor Nursing Home. Ed was born on July 7, 1918 in Grant Park, IL the son of Henry and Marguerite Bakhaus. Edward was a farmer for 20 years before going to work at Allis Chalmers and was a pigeon fancier for which he won many awards. He is survived by his children Dennis Bakhaus of Beecher, IL, Beverly (Richard) Riechers of Grant Park, IL and Rochelle (Gilbert) Hinkelmann of Groton, SD. 5 grandchildren Michael, Dean, Brent, Delbert and Kevin. as well as 3 great grandchildren Jacob, Nicole, and Preston. His wife Florence Bakhaus, his parents and his siblings Vernon, James and Edna precede him in death. Funeral servicesat Zion Lutheran Church. Rev. Ron Rock will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery in Beecher.
