Maxine Diane Potter, age 94 of Smithville, passed away Thursday morning, July 7, 2016 at her residence. She was a member of the Smithville First Baptist Church and the owner of Potter's Office Supply. Maxine was born October 22, 1921 in Athens, OH to her parents, the late Charles and Capatola Goldsberry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul H. Potter and 1 son Dana Potter as well as several brothers and sisters. Survivors include 2 sons Dennis Potter of Smithville and Pat Potter of South Carolina; 8 grandchildren, Caitlin, Chelsea, Kristin, Candy, Jonathan, Holly, Krisann, and Megan. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 4:30 PM Friday at DeKalb Cemetery with Bro. Michael Hale and Dennis Potter officiating. Visitation will be at Friday 11:AM until 4:15 PM at the funeral home. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
