Clyde S. Harris, 67, Died Saturday Eve After Heart Attack
Ord Carpenter Fought Illness, Accidents for Three Years

Funeral services were held at 2:00 on Tuesday afternoon in the Hastings-Pearson chapel, for Clyde S. Harris, who died on Saturday, Dec. 20. The services were in charge of Mamie Young, assisted by Rev. Allen Strong.
Burial was made in the Ord City cemetery, with Hastings-Pearson mortuary in charge of the arrangements.
Clyde S. Harris, son of Capt. Fred and Lelia Harris, was born Sept. 18, 1885, on a farm in Valley county. He was one of seven children, having five brothers and one sister.
While yet a youth, he moved with his parents to Sargent, where he attended the public schools, and where he remained, after his parents established the family home in Ord. They built the house which later became the Dr. Weekes' hospital.
In 1945, he took up his residence in Ord and on May 19, 1946, he was united in marriage with Mrs. Jean Whiting, who with one step-daughter, Mrs. Irene Kiser, of Cheyenne, Wyo., and the brothers survive.
In 1950, he suffered a major operation and had scarcely recovered when he underwent an operation on his eye. He was only getting back to work again, when he was struck by a car, which resulted in a broken leg. He was beginning to feel better and was endeavoring to resume his work, when he was stricken with a severe heart attack Thursday evening, Dec. 18, and passed from this life Saturday evening at 10:50 o'clock. His later years were a series of severe afflictions which doubtless contributed to the fatal attack which caused his death.
