Obituary
Roland R. Schneider, 84, passed away on July 4, 2016 in New Braunfels, TX. In his final days he was surrounded by his 3 children and was very much at peace. Roland graduated from Schertz-Cibolo High School in 1950 where he was a member of the basketball and football team. After high school he served in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1950 to 1954.
Roland married Dorothy Minor in San Antonio and they were married for 58 years and raised 3 children. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, playing games with friends and family. Roland worked 36 years for Mason & Hanger-Silas Mason Co. Inc. and retired from the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, TX.
Roland is survived by his children; Daughter, Donna Hindman; Sons, Alan Schneider and Dennis Schneider; Grandchildren Amy Harmon and husband Jon, Tyler Hindman and wife Anna, Currie Luedecke and husband Jake; Great grandchildren, Kaylee Harmon and Jett Luedecke. He is preceded in death by his Wife, Dorothy Schneider, who passed in November 2015; His parent's Albert & Agnes Schneider; Brothers, Alvin Schneider, Albert Schneider, Arnold Schneider, Richard Schneider; Sister, Mary Ann Rheinlander.
The family would like to thank his cardiologist, Dr. Sheri Boyd, as well as all
of the medical professionals that took such good care of Roland at Resolute
Hospital and Kirkwood Manor Nursing & Rehab Center.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Zoeller Funeral Home followed by public visitation from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. A Committal Service with full military honors will be held 9:45 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2016 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
