Funeral services for Billy Gene Roller, 76, will be held Mon., Oct. 2 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Brian Williams officiating. He died Fri., Sept. 29 in Henryetta.
Born Sept. 14, 1940 in Mangum to Jasper and Velma (Barrett) Roller, he had been a resident of the Okemah area for the past 18 years. He and Barbara Hill married Oct. 8, 1953 in Liverpool, England. He attended Mangum High School and later received his Bachelor's degree in Corrections from Langston University. He served his country with the United States Air Force for 23 years. He also worked as deputy warden with the State Department of Corrections fo 19 years before retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and the American Legion.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Jasper and Velma Roller, one brother, Earnest Roller; one sister, Thelma Sue Atchley; his step-father, Bill White and one grandchild, Adam Zezinka.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara of Okemah; four sons, Gary Roller and wife, Virginia of Clinton, Brian Roller and wife, Minerva of Mission, Tex., Steve Roller and wife, Robin of Atoka and Paul Roller of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Barbara Zezinka and husband, John of Midwest City; two sisters, Della Mae Phillips of Mangum and Katherine Boone of Altus; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ron Vick, Dr. Claude Evens, C.J. Garrett, James Roller and Thomas Zezinka.
Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Okemah under the direction of Parks Funeral Home.
