Vandergrift
Marion L. Panza, 83, of Vandergrift died Sunday (Sept. 8, 2002) in his home.
Born Feb. 7, 1919, in Steelton, he lived in Vandergrift all his life.
An Army veteran of World War II, he served in India.
Mr. Panza was a molder at Wean United in Vandergrift for 42 years before retiring in 1977.
He was a member of St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, the Bari club, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Sons of Italy, all in Vandergrift, Slovak and Lithuanian clubs, both in East Vandergrift, and North Vandergrift Slovak Club.
Survivors include two sons, Michael D. Panza of Brentwood, Calif., and Joseph M. Panza of Vandergrift; four grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Vorko of Swissvale.
Mr. Panza was preceded in death by his wife, Antoinette B. Panza, in 1999; his parents, Peter and Anna Ferrera Panza; two brothers, Samuel and Pasquale Panza; and a sister, Eleanor Ambrose.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the BRADY-CURRAN FUNERAL HOME INC., 429 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift. Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Gertrude Church by the Rev. Leo Rothrauff. Burial will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Vandergrift.
