A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Marianne. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Atcheson; daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and John Bourassa of Hudson, OH and Marcia and Jim Dillon of Bellevue, WA; and step-son, Greg Jones; grandchildren, Kevin (Aani) and Andrew Bourassa and James and Katherine Dillon. He is also survived by brothers, Gerald (Peggy) and David (Nancy); sisters, Margaret Trautman (David) and Norma Thorpe; many nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
Duane was a graduate of Penn State where he was a brother of the Pennsylvania Eta chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He served in the U.S. Army and retired as a Captain in the Ohio National Guard. He was a long time member of Broad Street Presbyterian Church where he served as elder, trustee, and usher. He was a football referee for OHSAA for over 20 years. He served many years as a board member of the Columbus Speech and Hearing Center and the English Foundation. He was a member of Pic-Token and Pic-Win clubs.
