Fred Strange SILVERTON - Fred Strange, age 86, passed away Monday, July 4, 2016, at Childers Place in Amarillo.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Silverton with GJ. Walton and a cousin to Fred, Bob Crass officiating. Interment will follow at the Silverton Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Moore Rose Funeral Home.
Mr. Strange was a lifelong resident of Silverton. He was born in 1929, the sixth of eight children to Bryan and Ivah Strange. Fred married Wanda Poole in 1953.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wanda Strange of Silverton; two children, Ronnie Strange, Darla Wood and husband Eddie, all of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Jesita Rice and husband Shawn of Canyon, Heather Strange Beckum and husband Todd of Amarillo, Dustin Strange and wife Victoria of Amarillo; two great-grandchildren, Jayden Peek and Robbie Widowski; and a sister, Mae Pitts of Alexandria, Louisiana.
Memorials may be made to the Silverton Cemetery Fund, Silverton Volunteer Fire Department, Silverton Ambulance or the Veterans Memorial in Silverton. Online condolences may be made to www.moore-rose.com.
