Adopted daughter of John William Hearn (1825-1897) & Laura Ann Pitts (1828-1906). Margaret was born to her unwed mother Laura Ann Pitts & lived with Laura Pitts & aunt Lydia Pitts Runnels/Reynolds in the 1850 census in Clarke Co., MS. Married to William (David) Doggett 29 Oct 1872 @ Clarke Co. Died late 1880 @ Choctaw Co., AL. She was named for her maternal grandmother Margaret Walters Pitts of Jones County, MS (DNA verified in Walters/Pitts family).

Mother of three children: Charlie Lee Doggett, Mary Cornelia Doggett Dearman & Lena Doggett Owens - all born Choctaw Co., AL.

Membership at Brightwater Methodist Church confirmed in early records (1872-1906) for Margaret & William Doggett.

Two Hearn siblings - James "Monroe" Hearn (d. March 1880) & brother Charlie Lee Hearn (d. Jan 1880) are also buried @ Brightwater Cemetery. See 1880 Mortality Census Schedule for Choctaw County, AL for all three siblings. Historical records show that pneumonia was rampant during that time.
