ROY L. FAIRBANKS

Roy L. FAIRBANKS, 70, who established the FAIRBANKS Home for Funerals here and continued his association in the funeral home with his son, Robert W. FAIRBANKS, until 1938, died suddenly at his home in Miami, Fla., on Thursday.

The son of Lorenzo and Martha FAIRBANKS, he was born at Buda, Ill., on June 24, 1882. He came to Muscatine Oct. 23, 1923, when he purchased the J. W. Rankin Funeral home and in the following year established the present FAIRBANKS Home for Funerals. He continued to follow his profession here until 1938 when he purchased a funeral home at Barrington, Ill.

Mr. FAIRBANKS married Grace ATEN on June 24, 1903, and to this union two children were born, Robert and Mrs. John EIS. On Aug. 1, 1938, he married Mrs. Dorothy STIRLEN of Muscatine.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Dorothy FAIRBANKS, Miami; his son, Robert, and daughter, Mrs. John EIS, and three grandchildren, all of Muscatine.

The body was flown from Miami to the Fairbanks-Stirlen funeral home at Barrington, Ill., where funeral services will be held Tuesday.

Burial will be in Rand Hill Park cemetery at Arlington Heights, Ill.
