Funeral Services at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, OK, Saturday, July 9 at 10:00 a.m. with burial in the Walters Cemetery.
Andy Kenneth Slimp, Jr. was born to Andy Kenneth “Jack” and Bess Lucille (Kochendarfer) Slimp on August 2, 1955 at San Antonio, TX and departed this life in Walters, OK on July 5, 2016 at the age of 60 years, 11 months and 3 days.
Andy grew up at Walters. He married Alsinie Louise Gardner on May 24, 1974 at the Church of Christ in Temple, OK. They made their home at El Reno and then Temple before he joined the Army. During his 6 years of honorable service to his country they lived at Walters while stationed at Fort Sill and then he transferred to Germany and she followed. They returned to Ft. Sill in 1979 and he got out in 1980, moving to Tulsa. There Andy attended Tulsa Community College receiving an Associate Degree in welding. Through the years he has worked as a welder, served a couple of years as the Chief Boiler Inspector for the State of Oklahoma and has since worked for One CIS as an inspector of boilers and pressure vessels. He has enjoyed fishing, woodworking and tinkering with cars.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Alsinie, of the home; his mother, Bess Baker and husband Raymond of El Reno, OK; 3 children, Jacob Slimp and wife Stacey Jo, Jennifer Slimp and Stacy Stilwell all of Tulsa, OK; 6 grandchildren, Anthony, Kainen, Alex, twins Jesse and Jamie, and Ethan; 4 brothers and sisters, Jackie Slimp and wife Sabrina of Tulsa, Darlene Gresham of Comanche, OK, Daniel Slimp and wife Sandy of Van Buren, AR, Deloris McCormick and husband Willie of El Reno; many other relatives and friends.
