Jackson M. Woodham, Sr., 92, of Fortson, GA died Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Columbus Hospice House.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Evangel Temple Assembly of God 5350 Veterans Parkway Columbus, GA 31904 with Rev. Mike McBride, Rev. Paul Thomas, and Rev. Bud Rupel officiating.

Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Mr. Woodham was born July 6, 1923 in Abbeville, AL son of the late Eugene Dewitt Woodham and Pearl C. Woodham.

He served in World War II from April 1943 to October 1945 achieving the rank of Corporal, serving as an Airplane and engine mechanic.

After leaving the Army, he was employed by Auto Supply Co. (NAPA) as a sales clerk. Mr. Woodham was a member of Beallwood Assembly of God now Trinity Temple for 70 years and attended Evangel Temple.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, LeOla Godwin Woodham brother, James Robert “Tony” Woodham and sister, Mellie Simmons.

Survivors include his son, Jack Woodham, Jr. (Lana) of Cataula, GA; daughter, Judy Jones (Kenneth) of Lumberton, NC; grandchildren, Kenny Jones of Lumberton, NC, Lauren Woodham Stone (Daniel) of Albany, GA and Lacey Woodham of Cataula, GA; great grandchild, Ella Kay Stone of Albany, GA, and several nieces and nephews.
