Mike L. Hancock, 69, of Raymore, MO, born July 25, 1946 and passed away July 4, 2016, after a long battle with cancer/diabetes and heart problems. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; two daughters, Lori (Daryl), Tammi (Mark); five grandchildren, Alora, Dakota, Dylan, Elizabeth and Jessica, and two great grandchildren; brothers, Doug (Fran), Steve (Cindy) and Barry; sister, Janice Holland; sister-in-law, Ann Hancock; mother-in-law, Marguerite Williams; brother-in-laws, Robert Dearing (Marilyn) and David Williams (Mary); step-son, Robert Shepherd (KT) and step-daughter, Becky. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Hancock; parents, Lowery and Mae Hancock; brother, Larry Hancock; brother-in-laws, Jack Holland and Donald Williams and father-in-law T.T. Williams. Mike attended William Chrisman High School, served in the U.S. Navy, was a life member of Am-Vets, member of Tirey J. Ford American Legion Post 21, former Shriner, Masonic Blue Lodge and Southside Optimist Club. He retired in 1997 from the Independence, MO Fire Department in 1967 after 29+ years of service. The family will receive friends at the Cullen Funeral Home in Raymore on July 7, 2016 from 5-7 PM. (Dress Casual). Mrs. Hancock wishes to thank Doctors, Daniel J. Holmes, Jacob Smeltzer, O. Kenneth MacDonald and Joel Foster for their excellent medical care and friendship – simply the best of the best doctors. We also thank Saint Luke's Hospice and the Oncology nurses at Saint Luke's East. Cremation. Private burial in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO at a later date.
