Ada Lemons Powell Holt, 86, of Eufaula, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998, in the Muskogee Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at Merritt Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Clyde Powell officiating. Burial was at Bower Cemetery under the direction of Merritt Funeral Service. Pallbearers were grandsons. Born Feb. 3, 1912, in Pittsburg County to James E. Lemons and Mary Virginia (Snowden) Lemons, she was married in Pittsburg County in 1927 to Clyde Powell, Sr. She was a lifelong homemaker. Survivors include her daughters, Linda Sue Dornan of the home, Betty Jean Powell Rice and husband, Otto, Kerman, CA; sons, Johnny and Carol Powell of Eufaula, Rev. Clyde Powell, Jr. and wife, Barbara, Muskogee, OK, James and Winnie Powell, Tehachapi, CA; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, her daughter, Wanda Louise Powell Bentley; two sisters; an infant brother and her second husband Roy Holt.
