Robert E. Guard, 83, died July 12, 1978, in Riviera Beach, Palm Beach Co., Florida.

A native of here, Mr. Guard was a member of the Riviera Beach Rotary Club and was a former member of the Friendsville Rotary Club.

His first wife, Maria "Mickie" McCullough Guard, who is also from Friendsville, died in 1969 and is also buried here. Surviving are his widow, Martha Sue Liddon Guard; a sister, Mrs. Jeannette Statler, Kingwood, W.Va., and two nieces and one nephew.

Interment in Friendsville, Maryland.
