Mrs. Nora Leona Finton Fenton, a resident of Jerome the past four years, passed away at St. Joseph, hospital Sunday, Oct. 22, 1967, at 10 a.m. at the age of 56 years, 9 months, 22 days.
She had been in ill health for several weeks, and a hospital patient since Oct. 15.
Born June 4, 1911, at What Cheer, Iowa, she was the daughter of Orville and Millie Lundy Finton.
On Feb. 23, 1929, she was united in marriage to Carl W. Fenton, who survives her passing. Mr. and Mrs. Fenton had resided in Centerville until moving to Jerome four years ago.
Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister, Mae, and a grandson, Richard Leroy Fenton.
Survivors besides her widower include a son, Carl Robert Fenton of Davenport; a daughter, Mrs. Fern Nora Lake of Davenport; an adopted son, Berness Fenton of Biloxie, Miss; a foster daughter, Mrs. Leona Foster of Rock Island; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and several great-step-grandchildren.
Other survivors include three half-brothers, Marion Clayworth of Moravia and Edward and Harry Clayworth, both of Centerville; and four half-sisters, Mrs. Viola Norton, Unionville, Mrs. Lola Morrison, Pontiac, Mich.; Mrs. Marie West, Cincinnati; and Mrs. Nellie Foster, Davenport.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday from the Miller-Wehrle Funeral home at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Jerry Witt officiating. Burial will be in the Jerome cemetery.
The family will be at the funeral home Monday night at 7:30.
