MILDRED KENNEDY

Mildred Kennedy, 92, of Sunnycrest Manor, died at 12:41 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at Sunnycrest.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Garryowen, rural Bernard, Iowa.

She was born on Dec. 9, 1908, in Cordova, Neb., daughter of Charles and Catherine (Rodeman) Beuterbaugh. She married Albert J. Kennedy in Dubuque; he died July 29, 1962.

Mrs. Kennedy worked at The Finley Hospital, and from 1951 until her retirement January 1975, she worked for the city of Dubuque as food sanitarian.

She graduated as a registered nurse from St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lincoln, Neb. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish, Key West, Iowa.

Surviving are a son, Charles G. Minnick, of Dubuque; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Minnick, of Dubuque; a brother, Charles Raymond (Wanda) Beuterbaugh, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Chuck (Becky) Minnick, Sue (Harold) Shaffer, Terry (Debbie) Minnick, Sharon (Tom) Swift, Lisa (Joe) Pfab, Mike Minnick and Jeremy Minnick, all of Dubuque, and Debra Minnick, of Edmunds, Wash.; and 12 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Clifford; and a sister, Verna Mae Toomey.

A Mildred Kennedy Memorial Fund has been established.
