Julia J. Porter, 87, Davenport, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 1995, at home.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Monday at Tampico Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Memorials may be made to St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, Davenport, where she was a member, or the American Cancer Society.
Runge Mortuary, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements.

The former Julia Batten was born Dec. 7, 1907, in Tampico, the daughter of Howard and Jenny George Batten. She married Lloyd E. Deitz July 23, 1927, in Tampico. He died in 1941.
She married Walter M. Porter May 5, 1943, in Canton, Mo. He died in 1952.

She was a member of Royal Neighbors of America.
She was an avid reader and in earlier years she enjoyed playing the piano and singing.

Survivors include daughters, Janice Crose, DeWitt, Iowa, Sandra Williamson, Davenport, and Linda Garms, Lake Park, Iowa; sons, Howard Deitz and Larry Porter, both of Rock Island; 24 grandchildren; and several great and great-great-grandchildren. A daughter, Mary Schell, and a son, Wilfred Deitz, are deceased.
