Graveside services for Joe Wiley Burton, Jr., age 78 of Sparta will be held 11 am, Thursday, July 7, 2016 in the Culverton Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Burt Mauldin officiating.
Mr. Burton was a native of Hancock County and had lived in Mississippi after retiring as a Master Chief Petty Officer from the U.S. Navy. where he worked at Engles Shipyard for a number of years before returning to Hancock County in 1985. He was a member of Culverton Baptist Church.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joe Burton and Sara, his wife Pat and brother Sterling.
Survivors include his daughter, Nancy (James) Moss of Sparta; son, Robert Burton of Wisconsin; sister Doris (Doyle) Boyer of Sparta; Grandchildren, Rebecca and Samantha Macintyre, Sara Moss, Bobby, Brandon, Colton and Patrick Burton; great grandchildren, Victoria, Aliyah, Maddox, Sammi, Jack, Joshiah, Kyanna and Noah.
