Obituary: John Howry Ranck, seventy-two, of Strasburg, son of the late David and Elizabeth Esbenshade Ranck, died at 10:05 p.m. Thursday at his home of a complication of diseases. He resided in Strasburg and vicinity his entire life and was a member of the Strasburg Mennonite church for many years. He is survived by one brother, Samuel E., of Lancaster, and two sisters, Anna M., and Mrs. E. Elizabeth Andrews, both at home. (Intelligencer Journal - Feb 13, 1937)

"The estate of John H. Ranck, of Strasburg, who died February 11, is left to two sisters, E. Elizabeth Andrews and Anna M. Ranck, according to the will now on record. The two sisters were names executrices and were granted letters February 18. They reside in Strasburg." (Lancaster New Era - March 24, 1937)
