Mr. Bethel Mayfield, son of the late Shafter and Minnie Dugger Mayfield, was born in Somerset, Kentucky on June 8, 1924 and he departed this life on June 30, 2016 having attained the age of 92 years.
He was united in marriage to Mrs. Imogene Raney Mayfield, she recently preceded him in death.
Survivors include; three children, Brent (and Gloria) Mayfield, Roger (and Brenda) Mayfield, and Randy (and Cindy) Mayfield; six grandchildren, Wes Bradds, Missy Bradds, Andrew Mayfield, Josh Mayfield, Ben Lindsay, and Brian Lindsay; and one brother, Gordon Mayfield of Indiana.
Other than his parents, and wife, he was also preceded in death by; one grandson, Joey Mayfield; one brother, Tophel Mayfield and two sisters, Clorene Arthur and Faustine Raney.
Bethel was a member of the Chimney Rock Baptist Church. He was a World War II Army veteran and was very involved with Gideon’s International as long as his health would permit. He served as the Church assignment leader for the Gideon’s for many years.
A funeral service for Mr. Bethel Mayfield will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Aaron Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery with military honors conducted by the American Legion Post #38.
The family of Mr. Bethel Mayfield will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home on Tuesday July 5, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time for services.
