Marilyn Louise Ruple Long

Marilyn Louise Ruple Long peacefully passed away at home on June 27, 2016. She was born in Seattle on January 25, 1933 to Paul and Viola Ruple. Marilyn attended Ravenna Grade School, graduated from Roosevelt High School and attended the University of Washington where she was a member of the Alpha XI Delta sorority.

After college, Marilyn married Jack Kinney and together they built their family home on Mercer Island. She enjoyed climbing, skiing, gardening and being a Girl Scout leader. Marilyn was very involved with the Young Republicans, DAR-Cascade Chapter, and the Association of Catholic Childhood-Anna Donahoe Circle. She was also the former organist and choir member at St. Monica's and Sacred Heart churches.

In 1979, Marilyn married Jeremiah Long. Together they traveled the world. Especially fond of going on cruises or trips to Hawaii, and then coming home to spend time with their family.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter Diane Kinney Daviscourt, grandchildren Kellie (Adam) Bystedt, Jeff (Kelsey) Daviscourt, Erik Daviscourt and great granddaughters Adalynn Bystedt and Finley Daviscourt. Audrey Bystedt was born 5 days after her death. She is also survived by her nephew John Ruple, step children Susan Long, Stephen (Lyn) Long, Michael (June) Long, Molly Espey and 11 step grand children. She is reunited in death with her son Greg Kinney and brother Don Ruple.

Her funeral will be at St. Monica's Catholic Church, 4315-88th Ave SE, Mercer Island on August 1, 2016 at 11:00am followed by burial at 2:30 at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 1215-145th Pl SE, Bellevue.
