Mary Harling Cawley was born in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England, the daughter of Harold Harling and Mabel Crabtree Harling. She joined the LDS church in 1950. She met and married Cecil Morris Cawley in 1956, while attending the London Branch of the Church and eventually moved to the United States, living in Missouri, California, Texas and finally, Utah. Along with her husband, she raised seven children. She was an employee of the Church Educational System, working as a secretary of the Bonneville High School Seminary for 15 years. She loved to travel and had traveled in Europe, Egypt, Israel and the United States. She organized the Bel Cantos singing group and conducted many choirs, with music being a lifelong passion. She died in 1993 of Pancreatic Cancer. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church all her life, serving in many callings including Stake Relief Society President, and sacrificing her time and talents for the gospel of Jesus Christ.
