Sybil Lola Dozier, 92, passed away to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, June 15, 2016. She was born on January 27, 1924, to Riley and Inez (Moses) Cooley. She was the oldest of six children. She grew up in DeRidder and eventually married O.B. Dozier. The two had five beautiful children whom she loved with all her heart. She retired from Firestone in 1990 and also sold Avon for 30 years. After retirement, she then moved to her favorite get-away, Sam Rayburn Lake, and stayed there several years before coming back home to the corner in DeRidder. She was always a free-spirited person and very determined to do things her way. She liked to travel, make plastic canvas crafts, and crochet. A visitation will be Friday, June 17, 2016 from 5-9pm at Hopewell Baptist Church. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 18, at 3pm at Hopewell. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery. Rev. Rod Martin will officiate. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Prevost and husband Chuck, and her daughter at heart, Naomi Dronette; grandson Derrick Bonvillian and wife Tressa; granddaughter Mieke LeDoux and husband John; great-grandsons, Nick Bonvillian, Zackery Cartwright, and Cody Spears; great-granddaughters, Krystal Domingue and Allison Ponder; and ten great-great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; brothers, LaVelle Cooley and wife Linda, and Wade Cooley and wife Rita; sisters, Sylvia Zerangue and Nell Reeves and husband Arnold Ray; and at last but not least, her baby and best friend, Luli. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Marilyn Dozier; and three sons, Richard, Michael and John Leland Dozier; brother Earl Cooley and sister-in- law, Claudene Cooley; and parents Riley and Inez Cooley.
