She was a native of Yancey County, N.C., but had lived in Johnson City for 38 years. She was a daughter of the late Elbert and Susan Peterson Arrowood.
Mrs. Broyles was a retired employee of Sears. She was a member of Grace Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Plumas E. Broyles; one daughter, Mrs. Susan Inez Hammer, Greensboro, N.C.; four sisters, Mrs. Ora Chapman, Johnson City, Mrs. Etta Johnson, Jonesborough, Mrs. Minnie Autrey, Virginia, and Mrs. Pansy Rathbone, Asheville, N.C.; three brothers, Sam Arrowood, Erwin, Floyd Arrowood, Jonesborough, and Lester Arrowood, Limestone; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
