Amber was a victim of homicide. A young life taken far too soon.

Amber is survived by her parents Michael and Melissa. Her sisters and brothers; Jeremy, Ashley, Justin, Jalesa and Spencer. And many other relatives and friends.

This is a public letter written by Amber's mom while she was missing:

To All Concerned: Amber's father, Michael and I, appreciate the support all of you have given us. It means so very much to us and our five other children. We also have Jeremy, 20; Ashley, 16; Justin, 15; Jalesa, 13 and Spencer, 10.

Amber is a loving and concerned child. She has a feisty personality. She is very outspoken and can also sing like a 'little bird'. She is very particular in her appearance and taking care of herself. She always questioned us about the food she ate. "Is it done enough", etc.

She was doing pretty well in school. Just an average child with average grades. She says when she grows up she wants, of course, to be a singer and to do hair. Her hair always looks good. She is always very well-groomed.

She cares a great deal about people who are troubled or who were hurt somehow. She is the same way with animals. We couldn't watch Animal Planet when animals were in pain; she always cries; very sensitive.

We are always aware of who our children are with and where they are, at all times. Amber never spent the night with other children very often; she was mostly here with us. With all her siblings, there is always something to do.

We feel she is still alive. My heart always feels very warm. We realize its been two months but we will keep on striving and never, ever give up until our daughter is home, where she belongs.

Again, thank you for all of your support and prayers.

Loving and Praying for Our Daughter, Amber

Michael and Melissa Harris and children.

Amber's loving grandfather Charles Nickens is buried next to her.
